Many have been waiting for the two remaining special nautical charts of Stockholm’s outer archipelago. After a two-year delay caused by unreasonable bureaucratic processing by the Swedish Maritime Administration, we have finally been able to print our long-awaited charts. Unfortunately, we have been forced to remove some of the information that was included in the previously approved A2 charts, citing confidentiality regulations. This concerns fixed navigational marks on land (such as cairns and beacons), as well as depth information greater than six meters within so-called “restricted areas.” Nothing that will directly affect recreational boaters, however.
The two 45-page special nautical chart sets cover the entire area from Arholma in the north to Björkskär in the south, extending all the way out to Svenska Stenarna.
A more detailed description of each chart is provided below.
The northern chart consists of 46 pages and covers the area from Arholma to Söderarm and Rödlöga. We have combined our previously published A2-format special charts and integrated them with newly surveyed areas at scales of 1:10,000 and 1:25,000. The image below shows the area covered by the northern chart and indicates which sections are presented at each scale. Blue numbers/boxes represent a scale of 1:10,000, while green numbers/boxes represent 1:25,000.
On the final spread, the Stockholm Section of the Swedish Cruising Club (Svenska Kryssarklubben) presents a selection of navigational marks with photographs and positions, to make navigation in these waters easier.

The southern chart consists of 42 pages and covers the area from Ängskar to Svenska Högarna and Björkskär. We have combined our previously published A2-format special charts and integrated them with newly surveyed areas at scales of 1:10,000 and 1:25,000. The image below shows the area covered by the southern chart and indicates which sections are presented at each scale. Blue numbers/boxes represent a scale of 1:10,000, while green numbers/boxes represent 1:25,000. As in the northern chart, the final spread features a selection of navigational marks—presented with photographs and coordinates—compiled by the Stockholm Section of the Swedish Cruising Club (Svenska Kryssarklubben), to assist navigation in these waters.
