When regular charts aren't enough...
Hydrographica is a specialist in chart production for the needs of boating, both over inland lakes and coastal areas. With permission from the Swedish Armed Forces and the Swedish Maritime Administration, we produce large-scale and very accurate special charts over mainly difficult-to-navigate archipelagos along Sweden’s coasts and larger inland lakes.
Compared to existing charts over these areas, Hydrographica’s special charts are significantly safer for the recreational boater. The depth curves for 2 and 3 meters respectively are adapted to the needs of boating. The charts open up new, safe routes in previously “closed” areas. The measurements have also revealed a large amount of new ground.

Our products
Using newly taken aerial photographs and advanced image processing and analysis, we produce large-scale special nautical charts, adapted for recreational boats and today’s navigation with GPS. In addition to the special nautical charts, we also produce overview charts and port guidebooks.
Updates
No maps are completely error-free and new information in the form of garbage dumps, jetties, etc. may be added or removed. Even though we use newly taken aerial photos and carry out extensive field surveying, errors may occur in the maps. Continuous updates and corrections to published maps are presented here. Updates introduced in the paper maps are reported with position information, a small section from the corrected map and in text.
Electronic charts
Since spring 2006, Hydrographica’s chart data has been available for use in navigators/plotters from all major manufacturers. Nowadays, other platforms such as tablets, smart phones and laptops are also becoming increasingly common navigation platforms. We currently have agreements with Garmin/Navionics, Navico/C-map, Chartworld/Raymarine/Seapilot AB and Skippo to allow them to use our data in their chart products.

We have made a number of popular wall maps in different formats. Also a popular book with shortcuts and alternative routes in the Stockholm archipelago. We are also the publisher of a couple of prose books with archipelago connections.
