Special nautical chart | Format: 83.9cm×68.9cm, weight | Scale 1:20,000
Hydrographica produces detailed special charts on a large scale over difficult-to-navigate areas where official charts are inadequate. They contain significantly more and more accurate depth information, have detailed depth curves and contour lines on land. The chart over Glan has a scale of 1:20,000 and is printed on Polyart, a synthetic, very tear-resistant polyester material with a paper-like feel, made for boating. The charts are completely waterproof and oil-resistant, writable, easy to wipe clean, but like regular charts, the material is affected and the colors fade if they are constantly exposed to sunlight.

A fishing area has covered Glan since 1989 with the aim of coordinating fishing and fisheries management. The fishing area allows fishing with hand gear to the public via fishing licenses and is administered by the Glan fishing area association. Glan has a good population of zander, pike and perch. Glan also has fine waterfowl habitats and ospreys nest with several pairs around the lake. Occasionally, white-tailed eagles are also seen. Be considerate of the birdlife when traveling on the lake. Glan has large open areas and varying depths, which is why it is sensitive to wind and conditions can change quickly if it blows.
Information about fishing regulations, the fishery conservation area and more can be found on the fishery conservation area association’s website www.glansfvo.se.
The chart has been produced by Hydrographica on behalf of the Glans fishing conservation area association, which has been responsible for the sea level measurements and fact collection. The sea level measurements are based on modern aerial photography technology and GPS-supported echo sounding, which provides reliable positioning. Despite this, the chart may contain inaccuracies. Neither the publisher nor the producer accepts responsibility for damage that may arise as a result of inaccuracies in the chart. Depths and depth curves in the chart are given at a water level corresponding to 21.3 meters above sea level, which corresponds to Glans’ water level in summer. Current water levels are reported daily on the Technical Works website www.tekniskaverken.se.
